Medical Aid Provided to Lincoln County, Alien Stock, and Area 51 Basecamp
On September 18, 2019, Guardian Elite Medical Services deployed medical resources to Lincoln County to support the emergency response needs for the Storm Area 51 events that were taking place at Alien Stock in Rachel, NV and Area 51 Basecamp in Hiko, NV. The medical deployment consisted of five ambulances and 50 personnel including EMTs, Paramedics, support staff, and EMS supervisors; however, over 300 first responders were on site from various agencies throughout Nevada.
During the deployment, medical crews provided 24-hour medical coverage throughout Lincoln County and responded on two roll over crashes, one vehicle versus cow, a brush fire, and a handful of minor medical incidents at the various special events throughout the County. Two patients were transported by ambulance and a third was transported to a landing zone where they were flown by helicopter to a hospital.
Throughout the duration of the event it was estimated that 3,500 people attended the festivities in Lincoln County, however many more were expected based on a Facebook posting that called for people to storm the top secret military installation Area 51. The original Facebook posting had two million people confirm their attendance and another 1.5 million people said they were interested. Guardian Elite Medical Services assisted Lincoln County with preparing the medical needs of upwards of 50,000 people.
“This deployment was a success,” says Chief Executive Officer Samuel Scheller. “This deployment took over two months to plan and provisions had to be made on where to house and feed so many responders. Without the support of Lincoln County and the residents, this deployment would not have been a success.”
