LAS VEGAS, NV: The Commission on Postsecondary Education has awarded Guardian Elite Medical Services a full-term license to conduct initial Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training lasting 177 hours.  “We are very excited to receive our full-term license so we can bring high quality EMT training programs to the Las Vegas Valley,” says Samuel Scheller, CEO.  “We do this by ensuring that students are ready for the job as EMT by the time they graduate from our program.” For example, students receive in depth training in gurney and ambulance operations, something that is rarely taught or briefly covered in other EMT training programs.  “One of the biggest complaints students have about EMT training is that they did not receive enough hands-on time,” says Scheller.  “We looked to change this by building our curriculum in a way that students are ready to hit the streets as competent EMTs once they graduate our program.”

The Emergency Medical Technician training program lasts 17 weeks and is 177 hours in length.  85 hours are taught in the classroom, 65 hours are performed through distance education, and 24 hours are performed doing an emergency room observation and an ambulance ride along.  Since being granted their provisional license in February 2018, Guardian Elite Medical Services hosted three EMT courses each lasting 17 weeks. This resulted in 18 students becoming Emergency Medical Technicians.  Guardian Elite Medical Services has future plans to start an EMT course each month and will start offering Advanced EMT training in the coming months.

Besides offering initial EMT training, Guardian Elite Medical Services also offers training in CPR, First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Active Shooter Awareness. For more information, call our 24-hour dispatch center at 702-GEMS-911 (702-436-7911) or visit us online at www.training.LasVegasAmbulance.com.
